Your Motivation: Keep Walking

New Image

Hey everyone, welcome to a new day. The ads are gone! Hurray! I had a glitch with my WordPress account but they have a marvelous support staff and they fixed it for me.

Yep, life is a neverending string of events, some are good and some are bad. Dealing with the ups and downs of life can be hard, especially if you are a survivor of severe childhood trauma.

I know I have been bogged down many times by my own thinking errors.

For instance, I once believed that since I was a victim of violence as a kid, society owed me. I felt they should be extra nice to me and bend over backward to feel sorry for me and make me happy.

That led me nowhere. The reason? I am not a child any longer and only I can decide to make myself happy.

So, what does one do with the emotions that can trap you into the cage of stinking thinking?

The only thing you can do is keep walking forward.

I chose the train trestle for this saying that I made up because it is so zen.

Think about it. You are on a train trestle, there is nowhere to go but backward or forward. You cannot go to the side because it is a drop-off into a river or ravine.

Even if you hear a train coming, the only thing to do is to keep moving and forward is the best choice for anyone who wants to heal not backward.

In the picture I chose one can see the stars in the night sky beckoning ahead. That’s your dreams and mine beckoning to us to just keep walking.

We’re on this path together through life. I want you to know I understand where you are and that I deeply care about you. Nope, I may not know you personally, but I have been where you are and we are linked by the mutual understanding of the pain we once endured as children.

You are never alone. Shirley
