Still, I Rise

2

The poem Still, I Rise is so iconic and full of meaning that I have adopted it as my theme. I realize Ms. Angelou was speaking of her trials as a black woman in America, but her words can translate easily into how I feel about defeating my abusers and my abusive past. I challenge you to read it from that point of view. You will feel a rush of power of rising above the oppression of the past and becoming someone shouting, “Still, I rise!”
